In this episode Emma explains why she loves windowboxes, and lists some of the edible plants which you can grow in a tiny space. If you want to enter the wonderful world of windowboxes, read Windowbox allotment, by Penelope Bennet. Potted Gardens, by Stephanie Donaldson, contains planting recipes for windowboxes together with lovely colour pictures.
Soilman gives us the benefit of his expertise on brassicas and explains why cauliflowers are difficult to grow and gives us some tips which might help.
Madeleine from Mad About Herbs lists some uses for rosemary, an indispensable plant for a kitchen garden. Check out Madeleine’s blog.
There’s still time to win Emma’s copy of Diary of a Compost Hotline Operator – listen to episode 14 for how to enter. The closing date is 31st May.
Seeds of Italy have a fantastic selection of varieties and have been kind enough to donate some courgette seeds to be given away to AKG listeners. There’s still a few packets available – check out show 15 for further details.
