The weather has been particularly unsuitable for gardening this week, so I have been doing lots of armchair gardening. In this show I review three of the books which inspired me when I started gardening – Urban Eden, The Edible Container Garden and Square Foot Gardening.
The people at Greenprints magazine read us an extract from one of their favourite gardening books, which is now on my wish list.
All of these books are available through Amazon in my Armchair Gardening stores – US and UK. If you’re planning to buy one of the books that we’ve mentioned then please consider supporting the show and buying through one of those links.
I’ve got some wildflower seeds to giveaway – a ‘sunshine in a bag’ mix from tree2mydoor. Details of how to enter are given in the show.
Continuing with the theme of armchair gardening, I’ve been writing more articles this week, which you can find on my article site. I’ve also been playing with Squidoo and have 3 Squidoo lenses – on unusual edibles, keeping chickens and composting. Making your lens is easy and I’m finding it great fun, so I would thoroughly recommend starting your own lens.
Next week’s episode will be on worm composting, so drop me an email if you have any stories or hints and tips to share.
