It’s time to harvest sweetcorn and find out how much tastier homegrown corn can be. But if you haven’t got sweetcorn growing in your garden this year then find out how to choose a variety that’s suitable for your garden, plan where to put it, improve the soil and sow the seeds next spring so that this time next year you can join in the fun!
This year I grew Kelvedon Glory F1 from the Organic Gardening Catalogue, but if you prefer open pollinated seeds then check out Real Seeds if you’re in the UK.
It’s also possible to grow baby corn and popcorn in your garden.
There’s also another story from Greenprints magazine.
Check out the AKG bookshop, US and UK, for my favourite gardening books.
