Fig Plant

Two AKG listeners have been very busy of late and have things they’d like to share with you. Erin, in Texas, has started a new podcast – Faery Knitting, in which she reads out a fairy story and chats about her animals and hobbies. I’ve listened to the first couple of episodes and I think it’s well worth checking out.

Madeleine from Mad About Herbs has opened a new forum on her website, so that’s the place to be if you want to chat about growing and using herbs.

Alternative Kitchen Gardeners love growing plants from seed, but that’s not always possible. In this week’s show we look at how to choose plants at the garden centre and taking care of plants that arrive in the post.

You might want to take a look at two UK online suppliers of organic vegetable plants – Delfland Nurseries and Rocket Gardens.

Don’t forget that the second episode of Monty Don’s Around the World in 80 Gardens is on TV tonight (and repeated on Tuesday). If you’re outside the UK then you can watch the episodes via the BBC’s iPlayer once they’ve been aired.

Leave me a comment, send me an email or join our Facebook group.

Download the PDF transcript of the show.

If you’re a new AKG listener then you might want to check out the episode on Indoor Salads from this time last year.

And if you’re in the UK and you’re buying garden stuff online, keep an eye on Muppet’s Moolah to see whether you can bag a bargain.
