One of Gillian Carson’s beautiful garden plans
With spring on its way here in the UK, we turn out attention to garden planning. Gillian Carson, from the My Tiny Plot blog is here to give us some advice about creating a kitchen garden plan.
Then we’ve got another inspiring gardening story from Greenprints magazine. In this one, a gardener comes face-to-face with his biggest enemy in ‘The Undaunted Gopher’.
Don’t forget that Monty Don continues his world tour this evening, in Around the World in 80 Days, at 9 pm on BBC 2. The show is repeated on Tuesday 12th Feb at 7 pm (also on BBC 2), but if you’re outside the UK then you can watch each week’s episode via the BBC iPlayer.

I’m especially excited about spring this year. I’ve been developed a website that allows people to design their garden online, then (if they wish) share their garden plans and pictures with others. The web-based landscape design software is almost ready.
The website also includes a wiki-based plant database where people can vote for their favorite plants.
For those of you that are interested, you can find it at http://www.mygardenplans.com.

Hi Scott,
Thanks for stopping by, and for the link.

Emma,
I wanted to say thank you for all the work you do regarding AKG and helping all us aspiring gardeners in what we do. I just forwarded this particular episode and the link from both Scott’s site and Gillian’s at MTP to her for inspiration (I’m the “day-labour” and not so much the planner). Sadly, over this side of the pond (Toronto, Canada), we are just digging out from (a record setting) 20” (about 50cm) of snow that’s fallen in February sofar; so the planning is still in swing, no actual work yet.
