A cold frame is a handy thing to have – it’s a cheap and very environmentally friendly way of extending your growing season and providing your plants with some protection.
Cold frames are just one method of extending the season – check out Eliot Coleman’s book Four Season Harvest for more information on cold frames and other methods of protected cropping.
This episode also contains an email from a listener who has some information to add to episode 55 on peppers, and a reminder that my bookazine is being published this week.

Hi, could you tell me whether you will be publishing a transcript of your podcasts? I know you have for some but can’t find a transcript on recent podcasts… I am deaf and am unable to access podcasts without subtitles or a transcript…..
thanks, Becca

Hi Becca,
I’m running a bit behind on the transcripts. I’ve done show 58 for you and I’ll try to catch up on the missing episodes this week.
Emma · Mar 18, 06:25 PM
Thank you! :-D I really do appreciate the effort you have put in to do the transcripts!
