Green Thumb Sunday: Spinning Jenny

I’m so happy at the moment, because my beautiful little kiwi plant is growing.

This was Jenny yesterday morning:

And this is her today:

The red hairs around the stem and on the leaves give Jenny a warm glow when the sun shines through, and she’s breathtakingly beautiful.

  1. At first, it looked like a skinny salamander! Is this the plant that grows kiwi fruit? Will it eventually be a tree?

  2. Your kiwi is doing better than mine. Mine has grown quite a bit, but no sign of any climbing yet.

  3. What a lovely plant, so delicate and furry red. Hope you get some fruits.

  4. She’s still doing well, twining around the trellis nicely despite the unseasonal weather.

It is a plant that grows kiwi fruit, Aiyana, although they’re likely to be smaller than the ones you see in the stores. It’s a vining plant, though, so it won’t grow into a tree.
