Winter Carnival Day

Snowy garden

Snow on the Grow Dome, February 2007

Welcome to the first edition of the Kitchen Garden Blog Carnival (snappy name, huh?). Now that we’re in December, I thought it would be fun to find out how other gardeners cope with winter.

Madeleine from Mad About Herbs is bringing in her tender herbs and curling up in the warm to plan next year’s garden.

Soilman is still braving the weather on his allotment to prepare for next year – and has recorded his thoughts on video!

Although it’s winter where I am, it’s summer in the Southern Hemisphere. Nonetheless, we have two contributions from the sunny side of the Earth.

Scarecrow takes us back to June, when she and her gardening club were discussing how to protect their plants from frost.

And Bare Bones Gardening explains how to use hot water bottles to protect your plants – a very ingenious tip.

That’s it for the Winter Carnival. Many thanks to all the bloggers who participated. Stay tuned for details of next month’s carnival.
